Hey it’s a new year and I wanted to share with all of you a great article I found on the CNN money website. It is the consumer reports best value cars for 2012 and further leading into 2013. How many people were surveyed for this test, 1.2 million people aka subscribers. Thats a lot of info to dive into and dissect. Well check it out below:

Small Hatchback -Toyota Prius
Family Car-Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE
Large SUV -Lexus RX350
Minivan -Toyota Prius V
Small SUV- Honda CRV
Small Sedan – Toyota Corolla
Upscale Sedan – Acura TSX
Luxury Sedan – Cadillac CTS
Sporty Car- Mini Cooper
Mid-Sized SUV – Toyota Highlander
These are the cars that are and will be the best value for your money in 2013. What does it mean when they say best value? Well consumer reports takes into account all of the important factors, just to name a few for all of you – True cost to own, reliability, costs to operate, and depreciation figures. This is the second time I posted a best value cars article, and I was surprised by this list because 6 out of 10 cars are made by Toyota motor company. That is saying a lot about a company and how well Toyota cars can compete against other car manufacturers. Even though they might have been plagued with some recall issues in the past two years, they still have high marks from consumer reports, the highest and most respected product recognition authority in the business industry.
Two of the cars are made by Honda Motor Co. This is a decline from this car company in the consumer reports Best Value cars list. I believe they had at least 3 cars last year. Maybe they forgot to distribute the company memo that states we must attempt to achieve excellence.

To end this post I write about cars from time to time because I want my readers to get the best information from the best sources about great cars. I understand that cars can be a major expense in all of our lives so getting the best bang for your buck is the smartest way to go financially speaking. Transportation costs should only consist of 15-20% maximum based off your monthly income, so get started on that much required budget to figure out if you are over or under the percentage. (Transportation Costs=Payments. Insurance, Gas, and Maintenance)
