A new series is born today, with the premise that now I will let you in to see the last things that I spent a hundred dollars on. Imagine if you only had a hundred dollars to your name, what would you spend it on? The last hundred is a way to lighten up the financial blogosphere with something unique.
Yeah I could give you a bunch of boring spreadsheets showing my monthly net worth, but that’s been done a thousand times over. Also part of me is still hesitant to fully reveal my financial numbers in all its lowly glory. What will this accomplish, maybe nothing. But it sure is exciting to see what people spend money on, don’t you think?
The summer is now here and I am excited to have fun in the sun. See below for all the spending based off the last hundred dollars.
The Last Hundred Dollars:
Photo book – $8, I captured some nice pictures over the last two years, and I wanted them in my possession forever. Never know when your cell might get a virus. (Actually happened last month)
GAS – $42, The good old ride will hopefully last about 14 days before another fill up. Cheers to effective driving techniques and to driving less in an already fuel efficient car.
Bounce Castle Fee – $12, We attended a street fair Memorial Day weekend, and guess what the kids had a blast because they jumped in 2 different bounce castles. (They now come with slides-Awesome)
Netflix – $8, I get the streaming service and it was recently slashed from my bank account balance. I believe I only watched 3 shows on Netflix in May. (May not be worth it going forward)
Target – $30 – Various groceries and cleaning products. We all need to eat and clean the home right? If not I wish you luck good neighbor.
So this concludes the Fourth series on the last hundred, and that means I spent 400 dollars over the entire post series. See the third one here. Ben Franklin is still crying all the way into others hands, but at least it was for good reasons. I just wiped a tear away with the photo book purchase and the bounce castle experience as those memories are precious.
I have been on a streak lately to spend only on purposeful things with greater focus. This will keep me on target with all my money goals. The faster I achieve them the better I feel, so why not attain them sooner rather than later. To put things in perspective this amount is nothing compared to income. I’m not saying a hundred dollars should be wasted on a weekly basis; it should only be once in a while to fulfill all needs and specific wants.
I wonder with a thinking man pose, what did you spend the last hundo on? Do you want to be brave and reveal it below? I will be indebted to you and honored if you would volunteer below. Have a great June my friends.
Comment on what you spent the last hundred dollars on?

PS – The figures above are rounded up and down to eliminate the geekiness behind adding decimals.
PPS – If the figures don’t add up to a hundred you suck at math
Metro card and groceries. Not very exciting :/
My recent post Thank You For Your Success
Haha sometimes it isn’t exciting spending money. Maybe you can come back when you spending turns a bit more exciting.
