This is the 1st part of a collection of widely used personal finance sayings, words, phrases, or quotes and my comedic explanation or definition behind the meaning of all of them listed below. I decided to break up the post because together it was going to be over a thousand words. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush – it means be happy with what you have and avoid risk / greed by trying to double what you already have
Acting like the Joneses – Spending like there’s no tomorrow or living above means or trying to keep up with others spending levels
A Penny Saved is a penny earned – basically to save, but with hints of watch your spending because spending is the root of all evil
A fool and his money are easily parted – means that foolish people spend all the money in their pockets and non-fools don’t spend all their $$
Badassitty – Flexing financial muscles and living ultimate frugality while growing a mustache in Colorado
Ballin like a Millionaire – this means you are spending like you made it or you actually did make it and can afford to ball out
Blogoversary – the anniversary of your blog
Bringing Home the Bacon – you are the one bringing the money in the household
Budgets Are Sexy – Handling your money so efficiently that you’re net worth shoots up so high, you’re almost half a millionaire
Being Buffett – investing in all the stocks Buffett invests in, and reading all his books as well- Mimicking the Guru
Breaking the Bank – you shouldn’t be buying that expensive thing, as it will hinder your finances
Cutting your Losses – when your investment is down, and you decide to sell as to not lose anymore $$
Don’t put all your eggs in one basket – Diversify investments baby, spread risk don’t place your money in 1 thing
Don’t be a Complainypants – Giving Uber obnoxious excuses, while complaining about financial matters
Driving a Hard Bargain – basic negotiating phrase to say it’s too expensive, and the sales guy is not budging on the price
Everyday I’m Hustling – Very Similar to the side hustle, but people like saying it to appear different or gangster
FInCon – Financial blogger Conference, where everybody geeks out learning finance, Networking, and drinking beer
Frugality – Cutting back expenses, while enjoying life in a mature fashion, valuing every dollar, living like a PF blogger
